Wie oft sollte die Elektroinstallation in älteren Schweizer Häusern überprüft werden?

Hi everyone!

I’m a homeowner in the Zurich area living in a house built in the mid-80s, and I’ve recently been thinking about the safety and reliability of the electrical installation.

With all the modern devices we use today—heat pumps, EV chargers, smart appliances—I’ve started to wonder:

How often should a Swiss home’s electrical system be checked or upgraded?

I did a bit of digging and came across some helpful information from a certified electrician in Switzerland:

:link: https://elektro-zollinger.ch – Their page explains when a full safety inspection (Sicherheitsnachweis – SiNa) is recommended, especially in older buildings.

They mention that in Switzerland, electrical systems older than 20 years should ideally be inspected every 10 years—and legally, homeowners are required to get a SiNa in some cases, especially when selling or renovating.

Has anyone here recently gone through this process? Was it a smooth experience?

I’m considering doing a full inspection soon and maybe adding solar panels in the near future, so I’d appreciate any real-life insights!

Thanks in advance
